License activation

After you purchase your ngSkinTools license, you should receive an email with a license key, and brief instructions of setup.

Upgrading ngSkinTools installation

Regardless of method of purchase, it’s always recommended to use the latest update.

Download latest: 2.4.0 View all 2.0 releases

Plugin will continue displaying “non-commercial” message until it’s activated.

Standalone licenses

If you purchased standalone licenses on Autodesk Appstore, licenses will be sent to the email address of Autodesk account that was used to make a purchase. You should receive a message from [email protected] similar to this:

After opening ngSkinTools UI, go to "Help - Register..." and enter your license key there.

After opening ngSkinTools v2 in Maya, in ngSkinTools main window menu, choose Help - Register…, and follow the wizard to activate your license key.

Important: license key binds to the workstation where it was used. The key allows up to 3 uses over the last 90 days. Contact support if you need the lock to be released earlier.

Offline activation flow

Offline activation mode allows you to active ngSkinTools on workstation where Maya does not have access to the internet.

Open activation dialog and choose ‘offline’ activation method.

Click "activate", and you should get a link generated. You now need to open this link on a browser that has internet connection - it can be another computer as well.

Open the previously created link in a browser. You should see this:

Click “Generate activation code” and you should get your activation code generated. Send this code back to computer where ngSkinTools is installed.

Go back to ngSkinTools 2 activation dialog; choose “Activation code” mode, and enter the generated activation code. Click “Activate”, and you’re done!

Floating licenses

When purchasing floating licenses via Stripe, licenses are sent to payer email email address. You should receive an email from [email protected] similar to this:

Didn’t receive your license key?

Check spam folder on relevant mailboxes (Autodesk account email or Stripe buyer’s email). It is quite rare that a license does not reach the customer, but it happens - contact support if you can’t find your key. Please provide relevant payment details (date, payer email, Paypal transaction ID, etc) - it will help resolve the issue faster.
